PLAYLIST Button This button displays the CD PlayList and the CD Extractor dialog box.
Album, Artist, Year, Genre, Comments:

Enter information about the CD that you are sampling so that it can be saved in the CDDB for future refence. This information will be pulled up the next time the exact same CD is put into the CD Drive.

Playlist Selection:

Each track can be renamed by double clicking on track number (Track01, Track02, etc). To select a track to play click the box to the left of the track name to add a check mark.

The AUDITION button allows you to sample a selected track. This is only possible if a track is NOT currently being played. If a track is already being played from the playlist the AUDITION button is disabled.

If anything is changed in the playlist, on exiting the CD Playlist dialog box, a reminder will ask if you would like to save changes before exiting the playlist.

Track Information:

The tracks available to be extracted (ripped) from the CD depends on which tracks are selected in the playlist.

Click on a track title to encode and check the Encode to MP3 option. Once this option is selected the Delete wave file after encode option, BitRate, Sample Rate, and Encode to Path options are available. You can specify each option.

Delete wave file after encode:

To encode an MP3 the track is first extracted from the CD and saved as a wave file. You can

choose not to delete this file after the track encoding has completed in order to compare the sound quality of the two files.

BitRate:

Choose the bitrate that you would like to encode the selected file at. The higher the bitrate the better the quality of the encoded file. Keep in mind that a higher bitrate will also take longer and will

require more CPU to encode the track.

Sample Rate:

Choose the sample rate that you would like to encode the selected file at. Typical sample rates are: 11,000 Hz (telephone quality), 22,000 Hz (radio quality), 44,000 Hz (CD quality). The higher the sample rate the better the quality of the encoded file. Keep in mind that a higher sample rate will create a larger encoded file.

Encode to Path:

A default path is already set in the options. If you want to change the path that you want your MP3-encoded file to be stored to, simply type in the full path.

Rip to Path:

A default path is already set in the options. If you want to change the path that you want your wave file to be stored to, simply type in the full path.
